We check the name against the live registry in seconds and show you whether it is free, along with a list of alternative extensions if your first choice is taken. Add the domain to your cart, choose how many years you want to register it for (one to ten), and complete checkout. The domain is registered in your name immediately and appears in your account, where you can manage DNS, set up email and connect hosting.

You do not need a hosting plan to register a domain. You can buy the name on its own and add hosting or email later.

We offer hundreds of extensions, from the classics such as .com, .net and .org to country codes like .ng, .co.uk, .za and .ke, and newer endings such as .io, .app, .store and .online. Pricing differs by extension because each registry sets its own wholesale fee; the featured prices at the top of the page are the current first-year prices, and the full list is on the pricing tab.

Some country-code domains have eligibility rules. For example, a few require a local address or company registration. When that applies, the checkout will tell you exactly what is needed before you pay.

Every domain registered with us includes free DNS hosting on our global network, WHOIS privacy protection (where the registry allows it), unlimited subdomains, URL and email forwarding, and a simple control panel for managing nameservers and DNS records. You also get a free SSL certificate as soon as you connect the domain to one of our hosting plans, plus 24/7 support from real people if you get stuck.

Nothing is added to your basket automatically. The extras are part of the domain price.

Yes. Transfers are free, and in most cases we add a full year to your existing expiry date, so you lose nothing by moving. To transfer, first unlock the domain at your current provider and request the authorisation (EPP) code, make sure the contact email on the domain is one you can access, and confirm the domain is at least 60 days old and has not been transferred in the last 60 days. Then start the transfer from our Domain Transfer page, paste the code and approve the confirmation email.

Most transfers complete within five days; .com and .net transfers often finish within a few hours once approved. Your website and email keep working throughout, as long as you copy your DNS records over before switching nameservers.

When you register a domain, ICANN rules require the registrar to collect the owner’s name, address, phone number and email. Without privacy protection those details can be published in the public WHOIS directory, where they are harvested by spammers, scammers and marketers. WHOIS privacy replaces your personal details with our proxy contact, so people can still reach you through us but your information stays hidden.

We include it free for every domain that supports it (a small number of country-code registries do not allow privacy) and you can switch it on or off from your control panel at any time.

Domains are registered for a fixed term, usually one year, and must be renewed before the expiry date to stay active. We email you 60, 30 and 7 days before expiry, and again on the day. If you enable auto-renew in your account, we renew the domain automatically using your saved payment method so there is nothing to remember.

If a domain does expire, it enters a grace period of around 30 days during which you can still renew at the normal price; your website and email may stop working during this time. After the grace period the registry moves it into redemption, where recovery costs an additional fee, and eventually it is released for anyone to register. Turning on auto-renew is the easiest way to avoid all of this.

Absolutely. Log in to My Account, open the domain, and you can point it to any nameservers you like: ours, your hosting provider’s, or a service such as Cloudflare. If you keep our nameservers, the DNS editor lets you add A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and SRV records, set TTLs and manage subdomains. Changes to records on our nameservers usually take effect within minutes; nameserver changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate worldwide.

No. The price you see at checkout is the full price, including the ICANN fee where it applies, and the renewal price for each extension is shown next to the first-year price before you buy. Some extensions have a promotional first-year rate, so the renewal can be higher than the launch price. We show both so there are no surprises. There are no charges for DNS, privacy protection, transfers away or basic support.
